| St. Lucia is packed with fun things to do. The most famous landmark of the
island and a must-see is the Pitons. These twin volcanic cones tower 2,000 feet into the
sky and are covered in lush vegetation. Another volcanic site on the island is the Sulphur
Springs. Here not only can visitors tour the smoking sulfur pit remains of this dormant
natural creation, but it is the world's only drive-in volcano! Natural mineral springs exist on St. Lucia, but one of the most popular is located at the Diamond Falls. It is known that once King Louis XVI from France built bathhouses here for his troops. Experiencing the beauty of a rain forest is not a common opportunity; visitors should take advantage of the hikes and tours offeredby the Forests and Lands Department. Another wildlife expedition may lead you to the Latille Gardens. Here you can spell the aroma of tropical flowers and feel the breeze of thewaterfall on the relaxing trails. Of course this sea-side paradise offers the finest in scuba diving,boating and windsurfing. On the northwestern tip of St. Lucia is Rodney Bay Marina which is renowned for its large yachting facility and state-of-the-art facilities. |
